Before the turn-of-the-century, Maud Humphrey Bogart was one of the country's most sought-after and highly paid artists.
Most poplar were her watercolors depicting beautifully dressed Victorian children portraying the joys of childhood. Her first-born son, Humphrey, was known as the OriginalMaud Humphrey Baby and his portrait was used for an advertising campaign for a major baby food company. Later, he gained his own great fame as a movie star.
Maud was a fiesty and strong-willed woman who believed in equal rights for women in the polls as well as the home. She defied Victorian customs by pursuing her career, and her work was in great demand. Today, her work is still popular and highly requested by collectors.
The majority of the Maud Humphrey prints have been discontinued and are no longer being printed by the distributor. Supplies are limited!
